Adobe stock faces a test of its AI monetization strategy after a steep year-to-date decline. Investors are weighing growth against margin pressure.

AI growth meets valuation pressure

  • Adobe's AI-first annualized recurring revenue exceeded 650 million US dollars and grew more than 150% year over year.
  • Fiscal fourth-quarter revenue guidance points to 6.80 billion to 6.85 billion US dollars, while the projected non-GAAP operating margin is about 44%.
  • Investors are weighing Adobe's expanding AI products against competition, leadership transition risks and slower companywide recurring-revenue growth.

Adobe stock traded at 222.95 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:41 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 1.11 percent below the Xetra close of Friday, October 30. The move comes as investors assess whether Adobe's artificial-intelligence investments can translate into faster recurring-revenue growth.

In an analysis published on Friday, October 30, Zacks Investment Research said Adobe shares had fallen 29.1 percent year to date. The report attributed the underperformance to intensifying competition from AI-native creative platforms, uncertainty over monetization, modest recurring-revenue growth, profitability pressure and leadership transition risks.

AI adoption is accelerating

Adobe's AI-first ending annualized recurring revenue exceeded 650 million US dollars and increased more than 150 percent year over year, according to the Zacks analysis. The figure remains a relatively small part of Adobe's overall recurring-revenue base, leaving investors focused on whether rising use of Firefly, Acrobat AI Assistant and agentic workflows will produce sustained sales acceleration.

The company expects total annualized recurring revenue to grow 10.2 percent by the end of fiscal 2026. Zacks also cited Adobe's monthly active users across its creativity and productivity businesses at more than one billion in the third quarter, up more than 20 percent year over year. That reach gives Adobe a broad pool for converting AI engagement into paid subscriptions, but the conversion pace remains central to the investment case.

Guidance leaves a margin question

Adobe expects fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of 6.80 billion to 6.85 billion US dollars, a range that implies about 1 percent sequential growth at the midpoint. The company projects a non-GAAP operating margin of about 44 percent for the quarter, below its fiscal 2026 target of about 45 percent. Continued spending on AI infrastructure, product development and customer acquisition could limit near-term margin expansion.

The latest fiscal-year consensus cited by Zacks calls for earnings of 24.47 US dollars per share and revenue of 26.6 billion US dollars. For the fourth quarter, the consensus stood at 6.32 US dollars per share and 6.84 billion US dollars in revenue. The next quarterly report will therefore be a key test of whether AI usage is improving the pace of subscription growth without weakening profitability.

Valuation supports the longer view

Zacks said Adobe traded at 9.05 times forward 12-month earnings, below the 19.39 times sector multiple. That discount may appeal to investors who expect Firefly, Acrobat AI and enterprise customer-experience products to expand monetization. The opposing case is that cheaper AI-native alternatives could pressure pricing and reduce the durability of Adobe's premium creative-software franchise.
