Record quarter lifts full-year targets
Second-quarter sales reached 477.7 billion Japanese yen, up 81.7 percent from a year earlier and 30.0 percent from the previous quarter. Operating income rose to 266.8 billion yen, lifting the operating margin to 55.9 percent, while net income reached 193.3 billion yen.

AI testing expands capacity plans
SoC Test Systems generated 353.3 billion yen in the quarter. Demand covered graphics processors, custom application-specific integrated circuits and high-performance CPUs, with computing and communications applications accounting for about 90 percent of segment revenue.
Annual SoC tester production capacity has exceeded 5,000 systems, and Advantest is targeting 10,000 systems ahead of its original schedule. The company also raised its fiscal 2026 capital-expenditure forecast to 60.0 billion yen from 50.0 billion yen to support expansion.
What investors should watch next
Higher component and logistics costs remain a margin risk, while management expects the semiconductor tester market to reach a record level in calendar 2026 as AI inference increases production volumes. Advantest plans a virtual investor-relations fireside chat on supply-chain transformation for November 12.
