Adyen published its third-quarter business update on Wednesday, October 28, covering the quarter ended September 30. The Dutch payments company reported strong operating growth but also signaled that it will accept lower near-term profitability to expand its platform.

According to Adyen, third-quarter net revenue reached 738.1 million euros, up 23 percent from a year earlier and 22 percent at constant exchange rates. Processed volume rose 30 percent to 451.1 billion euros, pointing to continued gains in payment activity and merchant adoption.

Growth was broad-based. Digital net revenue increased 16 percent to 387.4 million euros, while Unified Commerce revenue climbed 29 percent to 250.5 million euros. Platforms was the fastest-growing business, with net revenue up 46 percent to 100.2 million euros.

Investment changes the margin equation

Management maintained its 2026 constant-currency net revenue growth outlook at 21 to 23 percent. At the same time, Adyen now expects a 50 percent EBITDA margin for the year and discontinued its medium-term EBITDA objective. The company said strong merchant interest in payments, loyalty, billing and financial products supports accelerated investment in people, products and its platform.

The acquisitions of Talon. One and Orb are central to that strategy. Adyen said the integration is producing early enterprise wins, while the broader offering is intended to extend the addressable market beyond payment processing. Capital expenditure is expected to equal 7 percent of net revenue in 2026 before returning toward historical levels after the investment year.

Adyen stock traded at 831.80 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:02 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026. The quote reflects the current trading venue and is not paired here with a verified Xetra closing comparison. Investors will therefore focus on whether the faster expansion in Platforms and the acquired businesses can ultimately translate into the operating leverage that management continues to expect over the longer term.
