Air Liquide reported stronger third-quarter activity on Thursday, October 29, 2026, as Electronics and Industrial Merchant supported sales growth and the group launched the first tranche of a broader share buyback. The company said in its Q3 2026 results release that revenue reached nearly EUR 7.3 billion as of September 30. On a comparable basis, revenue increased 3%, while growth excluding currency and energy effects reached 4.3%.

Air Liquide stock traded at 179.60 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:37 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Electronics leads operating momentum

Gas & Services, which represents more than 97% of group revenue, grew 3.6% on a comparable basis. Industrial Merchant rose 5%, while Electronics advanced 12% as demand for semiconductor gases and advanced materials benefited from artificial-intelligence investment.

Growth was also broad across regions. Asia-Pacific increased 7% on a comparable basis and the Americas rose 6%, while EMEA declined 0.5%. Air Liquide said the quarter showed stronger volume growth in Electronics and Industrial Merchant, in addition to the contribution from pricing.

The group reported EUR 441 million in efficiencies through the end of September. Investment decisions reached EUR 1.25 billion in the quarter and more than EUR 4.1 billion since the start of the year. Air Liquide said investment in Electronics had almost doubled in the first nine months compared with the full year 2025.

Buyback accelerates shareholder returns

Chief Executive Officer François Jackow said the company would complete the first EUR 1 billion tranche of its share buyback by the end of December. The tranche is part of a EUR 4 billion program approved through the end of 2028 under the BEYOND strategic plan.

BEYOND targets recurring earnings per share growth of 10% annually, with a two-percentage-point range around that objective, through 2030. The plan also targets recurring return on capital employed above 11% in 2030 and a 33% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 2035 against the 2020 baseline.

Outlook remains confirmed

Air Liquide said it remains confident of increasing its operating margin by 100 basis points in 2026, excluding energy effects and certain acquisition-related amortization. It also expects recurring net profit growth at constant exchange rates in 2026 and a further 100-basis-point margin improvement in 2027.

For investors, the quarter combines faster growth in businesses exposed to semiconductor and artificial-intelligence demand with higher capital commitments and an accelerated return of cash to shareholders. Execution of the buyback and the conversion of investment into recurring profit will remain key markers for the BEYOND strategy.
