- Third-quarter order intake more than doubled as AI infrastructure lifted demand for optical equipment.
- AIXTRON kept its 2026 revenue and margin targets unchanged while pointing to stronger growth in 2027.
- Power-electronics activity showed early recovery signs, but delivery execution remains central for investors.
AIXTRON reported stronger third-quarter order momentum on Thursday, October 29, 2026, as demand for equipment used in AI data-center communications accelerated. The company's release, published through Investegate, said third-quarter order intake rose 122% year on year to 274.9 million euros.
AIXTRON stock traded at 34.27 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 15:10 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 5.97 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, October 30. The stock was 32.77 euros in the latest relevant report published earlier on Monday, putting the latest quote 4.58 percent higher than that report's level.
Optoelectronics Leads Demand
Optoelectronics accounted for about 68% of equipment order intake in the third quarter, reflecting demand for indium-phosphide optical components used in high-speed interconnects. Power electronics represented 24% of orders, with improving activity in gallium nitride and silicon carbide applications.
The equipment order backlog reached 549.4 million euros at September 30, compared with 286.5 million euros a year earlier. AIXTRON said the backlog provides revenue visibility well into 2027, while AI data-center expansion remains the main structural driver for optical interconnects.
Guidance Holds, Execution Matters
Third-quarter revenue rose 54% year on year to 183.6 million euros, while EBIT increased to 56.7 million euros from 15.4 million euros a year earlier. The company confirmed its 2026 revenue target of 560 million euros plus or minus 30 million euros, a gross margin of about 42% and an EBIT margin between 17% and 20%.
Management expects order intake to remain high or increase further in coming quarters. For investors, the order pipeline improves visibility, but converting bookings into shipments depends on production capacity, suppliers and customer delivery schedules.
