Alibaba is gaining a new distribution channel for its Qwen artificial-intelligence models after Apple agreed to integrate them into Apple Intelligence for users in China. The partnership was announced on Saturday and reported by Qazinform, citing Xinhua.

Alibaba Group stock traded at 90.25 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:31 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 2.91 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, October 30, at 87.70 euros. The comparison uses the last completed Xetra session because the new trading week was still under way when the quote was recorded.

Apple integration expands Qwen distribution

The planned integration will allow Chinese users to access Qwen through Siri, Apple's Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. The functions are designed to support text and image understanding, content generation and analysis of selected documents and photos.

Testing is scheduled to start on Wednesday, November 4, in the latest iOS developer beta. Apple and Alibaba plan a broader release for Chinese users with iOS 27.3 in December. Availability will depend on a supported Apple device in China, with the device location and Apple Account region set accordingly.

The agreement also places emphasis on user control. Users can decide whether to enable the Qwen integration and what information to share. Alibaba said requests and generated responses from the integration will not be used to train its models, according to the Qazinform report.

Strategic relevance for Alibaba

For Alibaba, the arrangement connects Qwen with an established consumer interface rather than limiting the model to Alibaba's own applications and cloud services. Siri, writing assistance and camera-based visual functions could expose the model to additional use cases, although the commercial contribution from the cooperation was not disclosed.

The initial launch is focused on China and does not amount to a global Apple Intelligence rollout for Qwen. Investors therefore still have to assess adoption, usage intensity and the eventual economic terms before assigning a direct earnings impact to the agreement.

Alibaba's wider AI strategy remains linked to its cloud business and international infrastructure expansion. The Apple relationship adds a consumer-facing element to that strategy, while the December rollout provides the next visible implementation milestone.

The Euro Stoxx 50 market environment offers the broader backdrop for European trading in Alibaba Group stock.
