América Móvil's third-quarter update contains a new balance-sheet detail for investors: cash flow fully funded capital expenditure through September and also supported a reduction in net debt. Cash generation changes the picture
According to the Benzinga transcript of the earnings call, América Móvil spent MXN 76 billion on capital expenditure in the first nine months. The company said the investment was fully funded by cash flow, while net debt declined by MXN 34 billion in cash-flow terms. Free cash flow was 41 percent higher than in 2025, management said.
Net debt excluding leases ended the quarter at MXN 400 billion, equivalent to 1.21 times EBITDA after leases. That compares with 1.50 times at the end of 2025. The company also distributed MXN 27 billion through share buybacks and dividends, showing that debt reduction and shareholder returns were pursued alongside network investment.
Growth remains focused on higher-value users
Revenue reached MXN 250.63 billion in the quarter ended September 30, up 7.6 percent year over year, while net profit rose 7 percent to MXN 24.28 billion. Reuters, carried by Fidelity, reported that mobile service revenue increased 6.3 percent and that the group added 3.1 million postpaid subscribers, led by Brazil. Prepaid lines declined by 5 million, mainly because of customer-base cleanups in Mexico and Colombia.
EBITDA reached a 40.8 percent margin, 0.5 percentage points above the year-earlier quarter. Management said capital expenditure for next year should remain near USD 7 billion, with a possible variation of 5 percent above or below that level. The stated leverage range of 1.2 to 1.5 times is intended to accommodate distributions and mergers and acquisitions.
