- Management expects low-20% sales growth and adjusted earnings of 2.26 to 2.30 US dollars per share in the fourth quarter.
AMETEK announced record third-quarter results on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and raised its full-year outlook after completing the acquisition of Indicor Instrumentation. The company reported the figures for the quarter ended September 30 in a company news release.
Record Sales Drive Higher Guidance
Third-quarter sales rose 17% from a year earlier to a record 2.22 billion US dollars. GAAP diluted earnings reached a record 1.85 US dollars per share, compared with 1.60 US dollars in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted diluted earnings increased 17% to 2.21 US dollars per share, with the company adding back 0.36 US dollars for acquisition-related intangible amortization and transaction and integration costs.
GAAP operating income climbed to 584.9 million US dollars from 488.4 million US dollars. Adjusted operating income rose 20% to 594.7 million US dollars, while the adjusted operating margin expanded to 26.8% from 26.2%. Operating cash flow increased 27% to 560.6 million US dollars, and free cash flow conversion reached 124% of net income.
Acquisition Broadens Growth Base
The Electronic Instruments Group generated third-quarter sales of 1.44 billion US dollars, up 16% year over year. The Electromechanical Group grew sales 20% to 778.0 million US dollars. AMETEK said growth was broad based across its businesses, with organic demand, order growth and contributions from recent acquisitions supporting both divisions.
AMETEK completed the Indicor Instrumentation acquisition during the third quarter. Management said the transaction adds highly differentiated industrial technology businesses to the portfolio and forms part of its disciplined acquisition strategy. The early contribution is included in the raised outlook, while future results will depend on the pace of integration and operating execution.
Fourth-Quarter Targets Set Next Test
AMETEK now expects full-year 2026 sales to rise by a mid-teens percentage compared with 2025. Adjusted diluted earnings are forecast at 8.53 to 8.57 US dollars per share, up from the previous range of 8.20 to 8.30 US dollars. The company linked the increase to the strong third quarter, its fourth-quarter outlook and the expected contribution from Indicor.
For the fourth quarter, management expects overall sales growth in the low-20% range and adjusted earnings of 2.26 to 2.30 US dollars per share, representing growth of 12% to 14% from the year-earlier period. The forecast gives investors a near-term benchmark for demand, integration benefits and margin performance.
