Amrize lowered its 2026 outlook after weather-related volume pressure, cost inflation and elevated interest rates weighed on its third-quarter performance. In its October 28 release, the North American building materials group reported higher revenue and net income, but adjusted EBITDA was nearly unchanged from a year earlier.

Revenue growth meets margin pressure
Revenue for the quarter ended September 30 rose 2.2 percent to 3.771 billion US dollars from 3.690 billion US dollars a year earlier, according to Amrize's third-quarter results release. Net income increased 3.3 percent to 558 million US dollars, while diluted earnings per share rose to 1.02 US dollars from 0.98 US dollars.
Adjusted EBITDA increased 0.2 percent to 1.076 billion US dollars. The adjusted EBITDA margin declined to 28.5 percent from 29.1 percent, showing that higher pricing and acquisitions did not fully offset freight, diesel and raw-material costs.
Building Materials revenue increased 1.8 percent to 2.842 billion US dollars, and segment adjusted EBITDA rose 2.7 percent to 938 million US dollars. Cement volumes fell 4.2 percent to 6.8 million tons as wet weather affected the Northeast, South and Central regions of North America. Cement pricing rose 1.8 percent on a constant-currency basis, while aggregates pricing increased 6.9 percent.
Guidance reflects a tougher finish
Amrize now expects 2026 revenue of 12.2 billion to 12.4 billion US dollars, compared with its previous range of 12.5 billion to 12.7 billion US dollars. The adjusted EBITDA outlook is 2.95 billion to 3.05 billion US dollars, down from 3.1 billion to 3.2 billion US dollars. The revised ranges reflect expected fourth-quarter volume pressure, continued cost inflation and higher interest rates, as reported by CemNet.
Management expects Building Materials to achieve a positive price-cost position in the fourth quarter. In Building Envelope, commercial roofing volumes are expected to remain resilient, while residential roofing is facing softer demand from lower existing-home sales. Amrize said the segment's price-cost position is now expected to turn positive in 2027 because of persistent inflation in petrochemicals and freight.
The company said its ASPIRE savings program delivered 73 million US dollars in the first nine months and remains on track for 80 million US dollars in savings during 2026. Amrize also noted that a 36 million US dollar insurance benefit booked in Building Materials in the fourth quarter of 2025 will not recur this year.
Capital returns continue
Amrize completed its 1 billion US dollar share repurchase program on October 28, representing approximately 4 percent of share capital. The company had returned 1.1 billion US dollars through buybacks and dividends in the first nine months. The board declared a quarterly dividend of 0.11 US dollars per share, payable November 18, with November 9 as the last trading day with dividend entitlement.
Amrize's investment case now depends on whether pricing, surcharges and cost savings can offset weaker volumes and inflation in the final quarter. Longer-term demand from data centers, energy projects, advanced manufacturing and infrastructure remains part of management's growth rationale, but the revised ranges point to a more cautious near-term earnings profile.
