- Management expects fourth-quarter order intake to remain broadly stable quarter over quarter.
- Revenue growth, cash generation and the record backlog support the 2026 outlook.
- Environment and Energy remains a margin risk because new technologies are still generating learning-curve costs.
Andritz reported a stronger third quarter on October 29, with revenue up 9.2 percent year over year and the order backlog at a record level. In the earnings call, management added that it expects no quarter-on-quarter decline in fourth-quarter order intake and sees a reasonable path toward the upper end of its 2026 revenue range.
Andritz stock traded at 81.50 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:10 CET on Monday, November 2, 1.12 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, October 30. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Andritz stock.
Backlog supports revenue visibility
According to the ANDRITZ results release, third-quarter revenue reached 2.0596 billion euros. Comparable EBITA rose 10.3 percent to 184.9 million euros, while the comparable margin remained high at 9.0 percent.
Order intake stood at 2.1662 billion euros, keeping it above the two-billion-euro threshold for the eighth consecutive quarter. The order backlog reached 12.7291 billion euros on September 30, up 21.7 percent from year-end 2025. Hydropower and Metals supported demand, while Pulp & Paper faced a tougher comparison base.
Management sees strong fourth quarter
In the earnings-call transcript published by Investing.com, Chief Executive Joachim Schönbeck said the company does not expect fourth-quarter order intake to decline from the preceding quarter. He also said reaching the upper end of the 2026 revenue guidance could be a good assumption, while stopping short of giving a percentage target for orders.
Andritz confirmed 2026 revenue guidance of 8.0 billion to 8.3 billion euros and a comparable EBITA margin of 8.7 percent to 9.1 percent. The company also retained its 2029 ambition of 10 billion euros in revenue and a 10 percent comparable EBITA margin.
Execution remains the key risk
The outlook is supported by cash generation and backlog conversion, but project timing remains important for investors. Environment & Energy profitability was pressured by startup and learning-curve costs related to new green technologies, while management expects restructuring charges to continue through the fourth quarter.
