- ANZ will raise variable home loan rates from November 13 after the Reserve Bank lifted its cash rate to 4.85 percent.
- The November 9 full-year release will put margins, credit quality, capital and the final dividend in focus.
- ANZ's ex-dividend date is November 12, followed by the record date on November 13 and payment on December 18.
ANZ Group Holdings will raise variable home loan rates by 0.25 percentage points from Friday, November 13, after the Reserve Bank of Australia lifted its cash rate to 4.85 percent. The move comes four days after the bank's scheduled full-year results on Monday, November 9, putting lending margins and credit quality at the centre of investor attention.
Kalkine reported the rate change on Thursday, November 5. The increase matches moves announced by the other major Australian banks and follows the Reserve Bank's November 3 decision, which was supported by six board members while three preferred to leave the cash rate at 4.60 percent.
Higher rates raise the earnings questions
The timing matters because ANZ's result will be released before the new mortgage pricing takes effect. Investors will look for the effect of deposit competition and higher funding costs on net interest margin, as well as management's view on lending demand in a more restrictive rate environment.
Peer results have sharpened that focus. Kalkine cited Westpac's net interest margin of 1.87 percent, down seven basis points excluding notable items, and impairment charges of 864 million Australian dollars. National Australia Bank reported credit impairment charges of 1.55 billion Australian dollars, including a 403 million Australian dollar increase in collective provisions. Those figures do not determine ANZ's outcome, but they set a market reference point for credit costs and capital strength.
ANZ investors will also have to assess the quality of the bank's recovery. Earlier reporting cited by Kalkine put ANZ's unaudited third-quarter cash profit at 1.90 billion Australian dollars and its Common Equity Tier 1 ratio at 12.51 percent. The full-year release should show whether lending growth, margin management and cost control are translating into stronger returns without a deterioration in credit quality.
The real-time quote of ANZ Group Holdings stock showed 25.06 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:20 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Dividend dates follow the release
The shareholder calendar gives the result a second market implication through the dividend timetable. Kalkine reported an ex-dividend date of Thursday, November 12, a record date of Friday, November 13, and payment of the final dividend on Friday, December 18. The final dividend amount and its franking level had not yet been announced in the report.
ANZ's shareholder centre also highlights the full-year results, financial calendar and results announcements as key investor resources. The annual general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 17, in Perth, according to the same report. Investors therefore have a dense sequence of earnings, dividend and shareholder dates to assess in November and December.
The broader Australian equity market will provide the operating backdrop for banks as rates, housing activity and credit quality remain in focus.
