- Aon reported broad-based demand across risk and human-capital services for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
- Management expects the USI acquisition to close in the fourth quarter and plans to prioritize debt repayment afterward.
- Reported revenue was held back by divestitures, especially the sale of the NFP Wealth business.
Aon plc reported broad-based third-quarter growth on Wednesday, October 28, after the three months ended September 30, 2026. In its quarterly results release, the insurance broker said organic revenue growth reached 6%, while reported revenue rose 3% year over year to 4.101 billion US dollars.

Growth Broadens Across Core Businesses
Commercial Risk Solutions and Reinsurance Solutions each posted 7% organic revenue growth. Health Solutions grew organically by 6%, while Wealth Solutions increased organic revenue by 4% despite a 21% reported revenue decline linked primarily to the divestiture of the NFP Wealth business.
Risk Capital revenue rose 6% to 2.7 billion US dollars. Human Capital revenue fell 4% to 1.4 billion US dollars, reflecting the disposal effect. Across the group, Aon said net new business and strong client retention supported the quarter, while divestitures reduced reported growth by 3 percentage points.
Adjusted Margin Expands Despite Costs
Adjusted operating income, a non-GAAP measure, increased 5% to 1.106 billion US dollars. Adjusted operating margin widened 70 basis points from the prior-year quarter to 27.0%. By contrast, reported operating income declined 1% to 809 million US dollars and the reported operating margin narrowed 70 basis points to 19.7%.
Aon attributed the adjusted improvement to organic revenue growth, scale benefits from Aon Business Services and net restructuring savings, partly offset by investments for future growth. The company recorded 93 million US dollars of Accelerating Aon United program expenses, compared with 32 million US dollars a year earlier, while third-quarter transaction costs included 25 million US dollars related to the planned USI acquisition.
Diluted earnings per share rose 6% to 2.23 US dollars. Adjusted diluted earnings per share, which exclude specified non-GAAP items, advanced 10% to 3.36 US dollars from 3.05 US dollars. Aon said the adjusted comparison included a 0.02 US dollar favorable foreign-exchange translation impact.
USI Deal Shapes The Next Step
Chief Executive Greg Case said Aon's Aon United strategy is being supported by investments in AI-enabled analytics, new capabilities and capital solutions. Management said the company enters the fourth quarter with momentum and confidence in its ability to deliver strong full-year 2026 performance.
Aon expects the USI acquisition to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. After completion, the company plans to prioritize debt repayment and outlined a path toward a 2.8 to 3.0 times leverage objective in approximately 24 months. The transaction therefore remains important for investors weighing the stronger operating performance against financing and integration demands.
