- Reported net profit fell to IDR 21.6 trillion in the first nine months of 2026, mainly because of non-recurring charges.
- Underlying profit remained broadly stable at IDR 24.6 trillion as automotive and financial services earnings increased.
- The mining and heavy-equipment division remained the main drag, while management reported a third-quarter recovery.
Astra International reported a resilient operating performance for the first nine months of 2026, although reported profit declined because of non-recurring charges. Investortrust reported the figures on Thursday, October 29, citing the company's results for the January-to-September period.
Attributable net profit fell to IDR 21.6 trillion from IDR 24.47 trillion a year earlier. The decline reflected IDR 2.96 trillion in impairment and fair-value adjustments, compared with IDR 244 billion in the prior-year period. Excluding those items, underlying net income was broadly stable at IDR 24.6 trillion, while core earnings per share increased 1 percent to IDR 616.
Automotive And Finance Provide Support
Consolidated revenue was nearly unchanged at IDR 243.87 trillion. Automotive earnings rose 8 percent to IDR 9.79 trillion, supported by higher vehicle sales and a 49 percent domestic four-wheeler market share.
Financial services earnings increased 6 percent to IDR 7.15 trillion. Consumer financing receivables rose 6 percent from December 2025, while new financing originations increased 8 percent. The figures give Astra a counterweight to weaker industrial and mining activity.
Mining Remains The Main Drag
The mining contracting and heavy-equipment division posted a 28 percent decline in underlying nine-month earnings to IDR 5.07 trillion. Gold production disruptions and lower coal volumes weighed on the segment, while Komatsu machinery deliveries also declined.
Management said performance improved in the third quarter as mining-contracting volumes increased and Martabe gold production recovered after its restart. That improvement could support the fourth quarter, but the segment remains the main operating risk in the current results picture.
