BMW stock (ISIN DE0005190003) was at EUR 57.88 at Lang & Schwarz on October 26, 2026 at 3:03 p.m. CEST, up 0.80 percent versus the EUR 57.42 Xetra close of October 23, 2026. The latest BMW sales release shows a sharper split between electric growth and regional weakness than the company coverage previously highlighted.
Electric sales resist the downturn
According to BMW Group on October 13, 2026, the group delivered 551,072 vehicles in the third quarter, down 6.30 percent from the prior year. Fully electric deliveries moved in the opposite direction, rising 7.20 percent to 110,257 vehicles. In Europe, fully electric deliveries increased 37.50 percent to 81,941 vehicles, equal to 34.70 percent of regional deliveries.
That mix matters because the decline is concentrated in combustion-heavy and weaker markets rather than spread evenly across BMW's portfolio. The BMW brand delivered 479,291 vehicles in the quarter, down 6.80 percent, while the company said the new Neue Klasse models are supporting demand for electric vehicles.
China remains the main counterweight
China sales fell 24.80 percent to 114,355 vehicles in the third quarter, while Europe rose 2.70 percent to 235,628 and the United States increased 2.50 percent to 106,741. The regional divergence gives the November results a clear test: electric growth must begin to offset the volume pressure in China.
BMW's China weakness was already part of the market discussion around its September strategy update. The new sales figures add a measurable operating split: Europe is growing while China is contracting, and fully electric vehicles are expanding faster than total deliveries. That is a more specific read-through for margins than the headline group decline alone.
