Boston Scientific reported slower growth for the third quarter on October 28, while management reduced its outlook for the final quarter of 2026. The company said in its earnings release that net sales rose 1.5% from the prior-year period to 5.138 billion US dollars.

Boston Scientific stock traded at 39.42 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 13:11 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Quarterly results lose momentum

Reported net income attributable to common shareholders fell to 582 million US dollars, or 0.40 US dollars per diluted share, from 755 million US dollars, or 0.51 US dollars, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share declined to 0.73 US dollars from 0.75 US dollars.

The company said growth was uneven across its portfolio. Cardiovascular sales increased 1.9% on a reported basis, while MedSurg sales rose 0.6%. Within MedSurg, neuromodulation sales grew 13.1%, but endoscopy declined 0.8% and urology fell 3.2%.

Boston Scientific also linked the quarter to the operational effects of the cybersecurity incident first reported in August. The company said the event affected operations and financial results, while management highlighted the work to restore operations and continue supporting customers and patients.

Fourth-quarter guidance turns negative

For the fourth quarter, Boston Scientific expects reported and organic sales to decline between 1% and 3% from the prior-year period. Adjusted earnings per share are expected in a range of 0.77 to 0.79 US dollars.

For the full year, management now expects reported sales growth of about 4.25% and organic growth of about 3.75%. The adjusted earnings-per-share forecast stands at 3.16 to 3.18 US dollars. Organic and adjusted figures are non-GAAP measures and exclude specified effects such as currency movements, selected transactions and certain charges.

Pipeline remains the longer-term support

Despite the near-term pressure, Boston Scientific pointed to several product and development initiatives. The company began enrollment in the Elite AF trial for the next-generation WATCHMAN Elite left atrial appendage closure device. It also received US regulatory clearance for technologies in its StoneSmart kidney-stone treatment ecosystem and for an expanded size offering of the SEISMIQ peripheral intravascular lithotripsy catheter.

A strategic collaboration with Heartflow is intended to advance AI-supported, CT-guided planning for percutaneous coronary intervention procedures. Management described the portfolio and innovation pipeline as key elements of its longer-term strategy, but the lower fourth-quarter outlook leaves execution and demand recovery as the next major tests for the stock.

For investors, the immediate focus is the company's ability to stabilize procedure volumes, normalize the operational effects of the cyber incident and convert new product activity into stronger organic growth. The next scheduled quarterly update will provide the next formal check on those priorities.
