Brookfield Asset Management stock is in focus after OMERS agreed to acquire an indirect minority interest in La Trobe Financial from Brookfield. The transaction, announced by La Trobe Financial on October 27, 2026, leaves Brookfield as the Australian alternative asset manager's majority shareholder.
Brookfield Asset Management stock traded at EUR 43.21 on Lang & Schwarz at 16:37:02 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026. That was 3.03% above the EUR 41.94 quote in the latest relevant report on October 28. The share comparison is separate from a daily exchange close.
OMERS joins La Trobe's ownership group
OMERS will invest through a Brookfield private equity vehicle and join Brookfield and Axight as an institutional shareholder. Financial terms and the precise size of the indirect stake were not disclosed, according to Benefits and Pensions Monitor.
La Trobe Financial's assets under management have reached A$27 billion, compared with A$22 billion at the end of 2025. The platform also serves more than 130,000 investors and 5,000 financial advisers, according to the company's announcement.
Approval remains the next milestone
The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close by January 2027. Until completion, the announcement describes an agreed investment rather than a completed sale. La Trobe Financial said its management team, strategy, investment philosophy and investor-fund management will not change.
For Brookfield, the transaction provides a partial liquidity event while preserving control of the business. The additional institutional investor also gives La Trobe another source of capital as it expands its private-credit and investment offering.
