- Capri Holdings returned to profitability in the second quarter despite a 5.5% revenue decline.
- Jimmy Choo growth and stronger gross margins offset weaker Michael Kors sales.
- Management expects fiscal 2027 revenue of 3.42 billion US dollars and diluted earnings per share of 2.20 US dollars.
Capri Holdings reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Friday, October 30, 2026, for the period ended September 26. According to Business Wire, revenue fell 5.5% to 809 million US dollars, while the company returned to a net profit of 27 million US dollars from a loss in the year-earlier quarter.
Profitability improved as gross margin increased to 63.3% from 61.0%. Adjusted operating income reached 31 million US dollars, compared with 20 million US dollars a year earlier, while adjusted diluted earnings per share rose to 0.42 US dollars from a loss of 0.03 US dollars. Capri said higher full-price sell-throughs, brand mix and lower tariff rates supported the margin recovery.
Brand performance remains uneven
Michael Kors remained the larger business but revenue declined 8.6% to 663 million US dollars. Its operating margin edged up to 10.3% as higher gross margin partly offset the effect of lower sales. Jimmy Choo provided the stronger growth signal, with revenue up 11.5% to 146 million US dollars and operating margin improving to 1.4% from negative 6.9%.
Capri said approximately 20 million US dollars of second-quarter revenue reflected wholesale shipments received earlier than anticipated. The timing supported the reported quarter but reduces the comparable revenue expected in the third quarter. Inventory stood at 712 million US dollars at the period end, down 7% from a year earlier.
Outlook points to second-half recovery
Management now expects fiscal 2027 revenue of approximately 3.42 billion US dollars, operating income of about 175 million US dollars and diluted earnings per share of approximately 2.20 US dollars. The company expects revenue to return to growth in the second half of the fiscal year, supported by new collections, increased marketing investment and efforts to improve the customer experience.
