Cheniere Energy reported stronger third-quarter results on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and lifted its full-year outlook for the third consecutive quarter. The Houston-based liquefied natural gas producer said higher LNG volumes and margins supported the improvement. Its October 29 earnings release set out the results, revised outlook and capital allocation plans.

Third-quarter operations improve

Revenue reached USD 6.173 billion in the three months ended September 30, compared with USD 4.441 billion a year earlier. Net income attributable to Cheniere rose to USD 1.170 billion from USD 1.049 billion, while consolidated adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, increased to USD 1.900 billion from USD 1.608 billion.

Cheniere exported 188 LNG cargoes during the quarter, up from 163 in the prior-year period. Exported volumes rose to 684 TBtu from 586 TBtu. Management attributed the stronger performance to higher volumes recognized in income, higher margins per MMBtu of LNG delivered and improved operating reliability.

Distributable cash flow reached USD 1.23 billion for the quarter and USD 4.07 billion for the first nine months. The company reported nine-month revenue of USD 17.773 billion and adjusted EBITDA of USD 6.037 billion. Nine-month net income attributable to Cheniere was USD 736 million, compared with USD 3.028 billion a year earlier, as the prior-year comparison was affected by changes in the fair value of derivative instruments.

Higher guidance and larger dividend

Cheniere raised its full-year consolidated adjusted EBITDA guidance to USD 8.75 billion to USD 9.25 billion, from USD 7.90 billion to USD 8.40 billion. Distributable cash flow guidance increased to USD 6.05 billion to USD 6.55 billion, compared with the previous range of USD 5.30 billion to USD 5.80 billion.

The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of USD 0.625 per common share, more than 12% above the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on Tuesday, November 17, to shareholders of record at the close of business on Monday, November 9. The increase extends management's stated policy of raising the dividend by at least 10% annually through the end of the decade.

Cheniere also repurchased approximately 2.8 million shares for about USD 731 million during the quarter. Growth capital spending was approximately USD 740 million, while the company said it had deployed about USD 1.5 billion under its capital allocation plan during the quarter.

Expansion adds longer-term capacity

Cheniere said substantial completion of the seventh and final train of the Corpus Christi Stage 3 project was achieved in August, ahead of the guaranteed completion schedule and within budget. The project expands the company's LNG production capacity by more than 20%. Across its Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi platforms, Cheniere has approximately 56 million tonnes per annum of liquefaction capacity in operation and about 5 million tonnes under construction or in commissioning.

The company also highlighted long-term supply agreements entered into by subsidiaries with QatarEnergy in October. The agreements cover up to 4 million tonnes per annum beginning in the early 2030s through 2054, with one tranche subject to a positive final investment decision for the first phase of the Sabine Pass expansion.
