Chubb stock is facing a valuation test after the insurer reached a new 52-week high, according to an analysis by Zacks Equity Research published on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The report links the recent momentum to a record of positive earnings surprises and asks whether the advance has moved ahead of the underlying valuation.
Chubb Limited reported adjusted earnings per share of 7.66 US dollars for its latest quarter, compared with a Zacks consensus estimate of 6.53 US dollars, the analysis said. The insurer has exceeded that consensus measure in each of its last four quarters. Zacks also cited expected current-year earnings of 28.86 US dollars per share on revenue of 64.06 billion US dollars, followed by 29.15 US dollars per share and 66.9 billion US dollars of revenue in the next fiscal year.
Momentum meets a fuller valuation
The report said Chubb shares had gained 11.7 percent over the preceding month and 18.2 percent since the start of the year as of its publication. The property and casualty insurance industry had gained 9.7 percent over the same year-to-date comparison, while the broader Zacks Finance sector was up 4 percent. Those figures place Chubb among the stronger performers in its peer group, but they also raise the hurdle for further gains.
Zacks assigned Chubb a Value Score of B and a Momentum Score of B, while its Growth Score was D. The combined VGM rating was B. The stock traded at 12.8 times the current fiscal-year earnings estimate, compared with 11.8 times for the peer industry, and at 14.7 times trailing cash flow against 10.8 times for peers. The report also cited a PEG ratio of 1.71.
The valuation gap does not by itself establish a downside trigger. It does indicate that continued share-price progress will depend on Chubb converting its earnings strength into further growth. For investors, the relevant balance is between underwriting performance, premium expansion and the price already attached to expected profits.
