- Broadband losses were partly offset by growth in wireless lines.
- Peacock delivered its second consecutive profitable quarter.
Comcast's latest investor picture has become more mixed since its third-quarter report on October 22, 2026. A Yahoo Finance analysis published on October 29 highlights a planned transformation charge of more than USD 1 billion in the fourth quarter and a still-pressured broadband market.
What changed since the last report
Management expects a slight improvement in underlying connectivity trends during the fourth quarter, even as customers continue moving to new pricing and packaging. The company also plans to use free wireless lines, multi-line offers and premium plans to deepen customer relationships.
The expected fourth-quarter charge is primarily tied to transformation measures. Comcast has described the program as an effort to simplify operations, improve decision-making speed and create capacity for growth. The charge is therefore a material near-term item for investors, while its longer-term benefits remain dependent on execution.
Connectivity remains the pressure point
According to Comcast's third-quarter results release, domestic broadband customers declined by 144,000, while domestic wireless lines increased by 368,000 during the quarter. Connectivity and Platforms revenue fell 2.7 percent year over year, whereas Peacock delivered its second consecutive profitable quarter with USD 261 million in adjusted EBITDA.
The combination leaves investors weighing a weakening core broadband trend against progress in wireless and streaming. Comcast also said the planned separation of NBCUniversal and Sky remains on track for completion by the middle of 2027, while share repurchases remain paused through the proposed separation.
