Comcast stock traded at 22.07 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:12 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. That was 6.51 percent above the 20.72 euros recorded in our previous report on October 30, based on the latest Lang & Schwarz quote. The comparison reflects the move since that report and is separate from a session comparison.
State filings identified 994 positions affected by Comcast's restructuring across Philadelphia, Washington, New Jersey and California, while the company plans more than 1,100 new roles. The figures show a reorganization of staffing and skills rather than a simple companywide retreat in hiring.
State filings add restructuring detail
Light Reading reported on November 2 that the notices cover 634 positions in Philadelphia, 159 in Washington, 119 in New Jersey and 82 in California. Separations are scheduled to begin on December 31, 2026, while the New Jersey effective date is January 27, 2027.
Light Reading said Comcast is adding 500 jobs in Philadelphia. The company has not disclosed a complete national layoff total, so the identified notices do not establish the final size of the program.
Cost transformation raises execution stakes
Comcast plans to record a fourth-quarter restructuring charge of more than 1 billion US dollars. The company told Light Reading that it is redesigning the organization to become more agile, serve customers better and compete more effectively.
The Washington notices include construction roles, but Comcast said those reductions do not signal a slowdown in network building or upgrades. For investors, the key test is whether new hiring and organizational changes improve broadband execution while the company manages restructuring costs and prepares its planned media separation.
