CVS Health reported stronger third-quarter results on November 4, 2026, and raised several full-year targets. The company said revenue reached 108.4 billion US dollars for the quarter, up 5.4 percent from a year earlier, while adjusted earnings per share rose to 2.09 US dollars from 1.60 US dollars.

CVS Health stock traded at 72.28 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 13:31 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 1.15 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5. The comparison uses the 73.12-euro Xetra close. The real-time quote of CVS Health stock is available separately.

Margin recovery supports guidance

CVS Health raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to at least 8.20 US dollars from a previous range of 7.90 to 8.10 US dollars. The company also lifted its GAAP diluted EPS floor to at least 6.98 US dollars from a range of 6.84 to 7.04 US dollars.

Operating cash flow guidance increased to at least 15.5 billion US dollars from at least 11.5 billion US dollars. The company generated 15.3 billion US dollars in operating cash flow during the first nine months of the year, compared with 7.2 billion US dollars in the prior-year period.

The guidance changes reflect better expectations in the Health Care Benefits and Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness segments, according to the CVS Health investor release. Adjusted operating income rose 21.2 percent to 4.194 billion US dollars.

Insurance performance improves

Health Care Benefits was the main earnings driver. Adjusted operating income climbed to 912 million US dollars from 314 million US dollars, while the medical benefit ratio improved to 91.3 percent from 92.8 percent. CVS Health attributed the improvement primarily to better underlying performance in its Government business.

Health Services revenue increased 9.5 percent to 53.964 billion US dollars, and adjusted operating income edged up to 2.106 billion US dollars. Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness revenue declined 2.0 percent to 35.498 billion US dollars, but adjusted operating income rose 10.6 percent to 1.635 billion US dollars.

GAAP diluted EPS benefited from the absence of a 5.7 billion US dollar goodwill impairment recorded in the third quarter of 2025. CVS Health therefore reported GAAP diluted EPS of 1.68 US dollars, compared with a loss of 3.13 US dollars a year earlier. The adjusted figures provide the cleaner comparison for underlying operations, but they exclude amortization and other items.

Risks remain for the final quarter

Management maintained a cautious view for the remainder of 2026 because medical cost trends remain elevated and macroeconomic headwinds could affect performance. The improved insurance margin is positive for earnings quality, while the decline in Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness revenue shows that pressure remains in parts of the retail business.
