Deutsche Bank and the European Investment Bank agreed on October 30, 2026, to support EUR 560 million of new investment for European space businesses. The partnership covers satellites, launch technologies, spacecraft, propulsion, satellite manufacturing and Earth observation, according to a Deutsche Bank media release.
Deutsche Bank expands space financing
The financing will reach companies across the European Union, with about half of the investment expected in Germany. Deutsche Bank said the cooperation will provide long-term funding and flexible financing structures for commercially viable businesses moving into their next stage of growth.
The initiative forms part of the EIB's Space TechEU programme, which is designed to mobilise investment with commercial banking partners. For Deutsche Bank, the agreement adds a targeted corporate-finance opportunity in a sector marked by long development cycles and high capital needs.
Record profit supports 2026 outlook
The partnership follows Deutsche Bank's third-quarter results released on October 28. The bank reported post-tax profit of EUR 1.9 billion, its third consecutive quarterly record, while profit before tax increased 8 percent year on year to EUR 2.6 billion. Nine-month revenue reached EUR 25.5 billion and supported a full-year revenue ambition above EUR 33 billion, according to the bank's third-quarter results release.
Profitability remained supported by all four businesses, while the CET1 ratio stood at 14.0 percent at the end of September. Provision for credit losses reached EUR 501 million in the quarter, reflecting further commercial real estate de-risking and an idiosyncratic event in the Corporate Bank.
