- Diamondback Energy lifted its 2026 oil and total production outlook after a strong third quarter.
- The company raised its base dividend and plans further shareholder returns while increasing capital spending.
- Investors are weighing production growth against higher reinvestment and commodity-price exposure.
Diamondback Energy stock traded at 166.41 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:37 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026, 0.78 percent above the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4, at 165.12 euros. The move comes as investors assess the Permian producer's higher output outlook alongside increased capital spending.
Ad-hoc-news.de reported on November 4 that Diamondback Energy had lifted its full-year production outlook after reporting stronger third-quarter results on November 2. Operating cash flow reached 2.6 billion US dollars and free cash flow totaled 2.1 billion US dollars.
Higher Output Requires More Spending
Diamondback raised its 2026 oil production outlook to approximately 524,000 barrels per day from more than 522,000 previously. Total production guidance increased to approximately 1.015 million barrels of oil equivalent per day from more than 1 million.
The company also increased full-year cash capital spending guidance to 3.95 billion to 4.00 billion US dollars from approximately 3.9 billion US dollars. Fourth-quarter oil production is expected at 518,000 to 528,000 barrels per day, with capital spending of 1.00 billion to 1.05 billion US dollars.
Dividend Supports Capital Returns
The board approved a 7.3 percent increase in the base cash dividend to 1.18 US dollars per share for the third quarter. The payment is scheduled for November 19, 2026, for shareholders of record on November 12.
Diamondback also repurchased 1.3 million shares for approximately 251 million US dollars during the quarter. The higher spending plan means investors must balance production growth and shareholder distributions against reinvestment intensity and exposure to oil prices.
