Drägerwerk stock trades lower after a quarterly profit decline. Stronger nine-month sales and reaffirmed targets offer investors a mixed earnings picture.

Growth, margins and outlook

  • Currency-adjusted nine-month sales increased in both Medical and Safety Technology.
  • Customs refunds materially supported EBIT, while third-quarter operating profit declined year on year.
  • Drägerwerk maintained its 2026 sales-growth and EBIT-margin targets.

Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA reported higher sales and earnings for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, October 29, according to an EQS release published through Deutsche Börse. Currency-adjusted net sales rose 5.3 percent to 2,453.9 million euros, while EBIT increased to 111.8 million euros from 77.1 million euros a year earlier.

Drägerwerk stock traded at 103.60 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:59 CEST on Friday, October 30, 2026, 1.71 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, October 29. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Drägerwerk stock.

Nine-month growth masks quarterly setback

The improvement was broad-based. Currency-adjusted sales increased 4.4 percent in Medical Technology to 1,367.0 million euros and 6.5 percent in Safety Technology to 1,087.0 million euros. Group order intake rose 3.6 percent to 2,673.5 million euros, supported by a 13.1 percent increase in the safety division.

The quarterly trend was less favorable. Third-quarter sales rose only 1.0 percent on a currency-adjusted basis to 850.8 million euros, while EBIT fell to 48.0 million euros from 56.7 million euros. The EBIT margin narrowed to 5.6 percent from 6.8 percent. Medical order intake declined 3.0 percent in the quarter, whereas safety order intake climbed 20.2 percent.

Customs refunds lift reported earnings

Profitability benefited from 27.9 million euros in customs refunds during the first nine months, including 20.1 million euros in the third quarter. Drägerwerk also incurred 25.8 million euros in nonrefundable U.S. customs expenses during the current year. The company said the refunds reflected prior-year U.S. customs payments and also pointed to stronger operating performance.

The reported EBIT margin improved to 4.6 percent from 3.3 percent. The gross margin rose to 46.8 percent from 45.1 percent, with the customs refunds contributing about one percentage point. Functional expenses increased 5.6 percent, mainly because of higher personnel, logistics and IT costs.

2026 targets remain unchanged

Drägerwerk retained its forecast for currency-adjusted sales growth of 2.0 to 6.0 percent and an EBIT margin of 6.0 to 8.0 percent for 2026. The gap between the nine-month EBIT margin and the full-year target leaves execution in the final quarter important, particularly as the earnings contribution from customs refunds is not a recurring operating driver.

Germany was the strongest regional growth driver for order intake, while the Americas declined against a high prior-year comparison that included a major Mexican hospital infrastructure order. The figures therefore point to solid demand in Safety Technology but a more uneven development in Medical Technology and across regions.

Germany's broader market context is available in the current market reports.
