- First-half like-for-like sales growth reached 5%, led by Perfumery & Beauty.
- The planned Animal Nutrition & Health sale is expected to reshape the group around consumer ingredients.
- The November 4 trading update will test demand, margins and cash generation against management targets.
DSM-Firmenich is approaching its third-quarter 2026 trading update with a more focused portfolio and a new test for management's outlook. The company is scheduled to publish the update on Wednesday, November 4, according to Kurums.
The real-time quote of DSM-Firmenich stock was 107.78 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:12 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Growth remains ahead of the update
Continuing-operations sales reached 4.664 billion euros in the first half of 2026, up 5% like for like. Second-quarter growth accelerated to 6%, while Adjusted EBITDA rose 7% like for like to 900 million euros. Currency effects left the margin at 19.3%, compared with 19.5% a year earlier, according to Kurums.
Perfumery & Beauty led the portfolio with 7% like-for-like growth in the first half. Taste, Texture & Health and Health, Nutrition & Care each grew 4%. Core adjusted earnings per share increased 14% to 1.84 euros, helped by a lower share count.
Divestment changes the investment case
The planned sale of Animal Nutrition & Health to CVC Capital Partners carries an enterprise value of about 2.2 billion euros. DSM-Firmenich plans to retain a 20% stake in each of two planned standalone companies. Closing is expected around the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and employee consultations.
The transaction would leave Perfumery & Beauty, Taste, Texture & Health, and Health, Nutrition & Care as the continuing businesses. For investors, the November update will show whether demand in those activities is holding up while the group works toward a more consumer-focused portfolio.
Guidance sets the next test
Management has retained its 2026 outlook for like-for-like growth of 2% to 4%, with performance expected toward the upper end of the range. It also targets an Adjusted EBITDA margin of around 20% and adjusted gross operating free cash flow of 11% to 12% of sales.
