- Encavis completed EUR 282 million financing on September 17, 2026.
- The term facility totals EUR 244 million and matures through 2049.
- Encavis operates in 13 European countries with more than 5 GW installed capacity.
Encavis (ISIN DE0006095003) completed EUR 282 million of long-term project financing for a 351 MW Italian solar portfolio on September 17, 2026, according to Encavis. The transaction shifts the portfolio from acquisition financing to long-term project financing and gives the company flexibility to add battery storage.
What the 351 MW adds
The Italian portfolio comprises 265 MW from the Giotto assets and 86 MW from four additional solar projects. Encavis said the nine plants are mainly located in Lazio, with further sites in Puglia, Piemonte and Emilia-Romagna. The company also said its subsidiary Stern Energy is handling engineering, procurement and construction for several projects and will provide operations and maintenance services for all nine plants.
How the financing is structured
The financing consists of a EUR 244 million term facility, a EUR 10 million debt service reserve facility and a EUR 28 million letter of credit facility. The two term-facility tranches mature at the end of 2049. That structure matters because it replaces acquisition debt with long-term project funding while preserving room for storage additions.
Why Italy matters to Encavis
Encavis described Italy as one of its most attractive growth markets in the September 17, 2026 release. The company operates wind, solar and battery assets across 13 European countries and has more than 5 GW of total installed capacity. For investors, the financing links the immediate 351 MW expansion with a broader renewable-generation and storage strategy.
Encavis expands its renewable platform
The Italian transaction follows Encavis' acquisition of the Giotto portfolio in November 2025 and funds four additional solar projects. The financing also includes a clear operational date horizon, with both term tranches running through the end of 2049. This gives the project portfolio a longer funding profile while keeping storage integration as a strategic option.
