ENGIE commissioned two Indian solar projects on October 29, adding 450 megawatts of operational capacity as the energy group approaches its nine-month reporting date. The company will publish its 9M 2026 results on Thursday, November 5, according to its investor calendar.

Solar projects strengthen Indian platform

ENGIE said in its October 29 press release that the 250 MW Khaba project in Rajasthan and the 200 MW Khavda project in Gujarat are fully operational. Khaba is expected to generate approximately 650 GWh of electricity each year, while Khavda is expected to generate approximately 350 GWh.

Khaba was developed through Khaba Renewable Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned ENGIE subsidiary. Khavda was developed through Enren II Energy Private Limited and has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The two projects therefore combine new generation capacity with contracted power sales.

Renewables meet flexibility strategy

ENGIE said the projects lift its Indian portfolio to around 2 gigawatts in operation or under construction. The group is also combining renewable generation with storage and hybrid assets, including a 280 MW / 560 MWh battery project secured in November 2025 and a hybrid project awarded in January 2026 with 200 MW of solar and 100 MW / 600 MWh of battery storage.

Pedro Vasconcelos, ENGIE executive vice president for Renewable & Flexible Power, described India as a key growth market and pointed to opportunities in corporate power purchase agreements, energy management and flexibility solutions. Those priorities give the upcoming results a broader context: investors can compare operating trends with the group's expansion in renewables and storage.
