- Eni disclosed another tranche of treasury-share purchases carried out on Euronext Milan.
- The buyback forms part of the company's additional remuneration for shareholders alongside dividends.
- Management's latest investor update continues to put cash returns at the center of the investment case.
Eni has disclosed a new tranche of treasury-share purchases, adding fresh detail to its shareholder-return policy. In a report published by Eni on Wednesday, November 4, the company said the transactions covered the period from October 26 through October 30, 2026.
Fresh Buyback Details
Eni acquired 4,278,035 shares on Euronext Milan, equivalent to 0.14 percent of its share capital. The purchases carried a weighted average price of 26.8815 euros per share and a total consideration of 114,999,934.62 euros.
The transactions were made under the second tranche of the treasury-share program approved by shareholders on May 6. Eni said the program is intended to provide additional remuneration alongside dividend distributions. The disclosure therefore links the latest market activity directly to the company's broader capital-allocation framework rather than presenting a change to its operating strategy.
Position Within The Program
Since the buyback began on May 8, Eni had acquired 93,308,523 shares for a total consideration of 2,169,915,235.04 euros, according to the company. Including treasury shares already held, the group reported 180,136,630 treasury shares, equal to 5.95 percent of its share capital.
The latest purchase report follows Eni's strong third-quarter update, which included higher planned shareholder distributions. That backdrop matters for investors because repurchases can reduce the number of shares in circulation, while the effect on per-share metrics depends on the purchase price, timing and the company's future earnings.
