Gerresheimer enters the final quarter with higher sales but a sharper focus on profitability. In its preliminary third-quarter release on Friday, October 30, the company said revenue rose 8 percent year over year to 605 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA reached 103 million euros.
The figures came from Gerresheimer. Adjusted EBITDA was broadly stable against the prior-year quarter, but the adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 17.1 percent from 19.0 percent. For the first nine months, adjusted EBITDA declined to 272 million euros from 331 million euros a year earlier.
Drug delivery drives the recovery
Containment & Delivery Systems provided the main growth contribution. Third-quarter revenue in the division reached 313 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA rose to 77 million euros and the margin improved to 24.5 percent. Gerresheimer linked the performance to stronger demand for drug delivery devices and rising contributions from expanded capacity.
Other divisions remained under pressure. Primary Injectable Solutions generated 123 million euros of third-quarter revenue and 15 million euros of adjusted EBITDA. Moulded Glass posted 169 million euros of revenue, while adjusted EBITDA fell to 17 million euros as inventory reductions and weaker capacity utilization weighed on earnings.
Ownership signal adds a second catalyst
A separate EQS News notification published on Monday, November 2, said Goldman Sachs held total positions equivalent to 16.33 percent of Gerresheimer voting rights. The filing said the threshold was crossed on October 22 and compared with a previous total of 16.13 percent.
Management expects a stronger fourth quarter with further earnings improvement and continues to target its existing outlook. The company also said preparations for the sale of its Primary Packaging Plastics business were progressing, with closing expected in the first quarter of 2027, while comprehensive refinancing remains a next milestone.
