- CEO Christian Stammkoetter is organizing the 2030 agenda around optimization, future-proofing and closer cooperation.
- Technology, data and artificial intelligence are intended to improve product creation, customer solutions and operating efficiency.
- Taste & Wellbeing remains a key execution area, while Fragrance & Beauty benefits from strong consumer demand.
Givaudan used its Zurich investor presentation on Thursday, October 29, to sharpen the strategic framework for the next phase of growth. In an official interview published by the company, CEO Christian Stammkoetter described three priorities: optimize the core business, future-proof operations and grow together with employees, customers and partners.
The strategy places technology, data and artificial intelligence at the center of Givaudan's operating model. Management said the company holds proprietary data across creation, ingredients, applications, consumer insight, customer projects and operations. The objective is to use those resources to accelerate product creation, improve customer solutions, deepen market insight and make operations more competitive. Givaudan stressed that this is intended as a business program with measurable value creation, rather than an isolated information-technology project. The priorities are set out in the company's CEO strategy interview.
Taste & Wellbeing is the execution test
Givaudan's management identified Taste & Wellbeing as the division requiring the clearest operational improvement. Flavour and Taste Solutions account for 86 percent of the division's sales, according to the company. The plan calls for stronger innovation and commercial execution, broader reach in high-growth markets, and additional focus on Natural Colours, Health, Functional and Natural Ingredients, and Pet Food.
The company also pointed to regulatory change in the United States as an opportunity for Natural Colours. Management expects customer demand for healthier products, lower sugar and salt, functional benefits and products suited to changing consumer habits to support innovation across the portfolio.
Growth targets remain in place
Givaudan reaffirmed its ambition for average like-for-like sales growth of 4 to 6 percent over the five-year strategy period. It also continues to target adjusted free cash flow above 12 percent of sales over that cycle. First-half sales reached CHF 3.8 billion, up 3.6 percent on a like-for-like basis, while Fragrance & Beauty grew 6.5 percent. Taste & Wellbeing was affected by a softer food and beverage market, although management said the division returned to sequential growth in the second quarter.
