Givaudan stock: AI strategy puts Taste and Wellbeing in focus

- Givaudan is organizing its 2030 agenda around optimizing the core business, future-proofing operations and working more closely with customers and employees.
- Management is targeting average like-for-like sales growth of 4% to 6% and adjusted free cash flow above 12% over the five-year strategy cycle.
- Taste and Wellbeing remains the main execution test, while Fragrance and Beauty is the faster-growing division in the first nine months.
Givaudan is placing technology, data and artificial intelligence at the center of its 2030 agenda, while the slower Taste and Wellbeing division remains the key operational test for the Swiss fragrances and flavors group. The strategy update was outlined in management commentary published on October 23 and discussed at the company's Zurich investor event on October 29.
According to Givaudan, Chief Executive Christian Stammkoetter is framing the plan around three priorities: optimizing the core business, future-proofing operations and growing together with employees, customers and partners. The company says AI should improve product creation, customer solutions, insight and operating competitiveness rather than remain an isolated information-technology project.
Execution shifts toward Taste and Wellbeing
Management identified Flavour and Taste Solutions as 86% of Taste and Wellbeing sales. Natural Colours, Health, Functional and Natural Ingredients, and Pet Food are additional areas targeted for improvement or expansion.
Givaudan's first-nine-month sales reached CHF 5.891 billion, with like-for-like growth of 5.2%. Fragrance and Beauty grew 8.8% like for like, compared with 1.5% for Taste and Wellbeing. The division split leaves execution in Taste and Wellbeing as the clearest test of whether the strategy can translate into broader growth.
