Grifols stock: Q3 beat supports cash flow and debt reduction

- Third-quarter revenue exceeded consensus as Biopharma growth led the performance.
- Management maintained its full-year guidance and expects SPARTA Phase 3 results by the end of the fourth quarter.
- Lower leverage, stronger cash generation and extended debt maturities improve financial flexibility, while weakness in China remains a risk.
Grifols' third-quarter results, reported by Yahoo Finance on Tuesday, November 3, pointed to stronger operating momentum and continued balance-sheet repair. Revenue reached 2.04 billion euros, up 8.4 percent at constant currency and above the 1.98 billion euro consensus estimate.
Net profit rose 27.9 percent to 162 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA increased 9.8 percent at constant currency to 538 million euros. The adjusted EBITDA margin reached 26.4 percent, giving the plasma-products group more room to convert sales growth into earnings.
Biopharma drives the quarterly expansion
Biopharma revenue grew 10.3 percent at constant currency and remained the main growth engine. Immunoglobulin sales advanced 11.3 percent, with subcutaneous immunoglobulin increasing 40.3 percent. The Alpha-1 and specialty proteins franchise also contributed, rising 18.2 percent.
The portfolio remained uneven. Albumin revenue declined 13.2 percent, with regulatory factors and elevated inventories in China weighing on demand. That weakness is a continuing risk for investors because it offsets part of the momentum in immunoglobulins and specialty proteins.
Cash flow supports lower leverage
Grifols generated 208 million euros of free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions in the third quarter. Net leverage fell to 3.98 times from 4.2 times a year earlier, while liquidity increased to 2.14 billion euros. The company also refinanced obligations due in 2027, leaving no significant maturities until the fourth quarter of 2028.
Management maintained its full-year financial guidance after the revenue beat. The company continues to target a 25 percent adjusted EBITDA margin for the full year. The combination of higher-margin Biopharma growth, cost discipline and debt reduction is improving the financial profile, although the balance sheet remains sensitive to operating performance and funding costs.
Pipeline and plasma supply remain in focus
Grifols expects to collect approximately 1 million litres of plasma in Egypt during 2026 and aims to expand annual capacity to as much as 3 million litres by 2029. The expansion could support future supply of plasma-derived medicines, but it also requires continued execution and investment.
Investors are also awaiting topline results from the Phase 3 SPARTA study, which the company expects by the end of the fourth quarter. That milestone adds a clinical catalyst to the operating and deleveraging story.
