- Nine-month reported net profit rose 10 percent, while adjusted net profit increased 9 percent.
- Networks EBITDA advanced 15 percent as Iberdrola expanded its regulated asset base and transmission contribution.
- Capital spending climbed 13 percent to 10.1 billion euros, with nearly three-quarters directed to the UK, United States and Brazil.
Iberdrola raised its full-year outlook on October 21 after reporting stronger earnings for the first nine months of 2026. The Spanish utility now expects adjusted net profit to grow by at least 10 percent this year, compared with previous guidance for growth comfortably above 8 percent, according to Windtech International.
Reported net profit rose 10 percent to 5.8 billion euros. Adjusted net profit increased 9 percent to 5.1 billion euros, or 13 percent excluding foreign-exchange effects. Adjusted EBITDA advanced 7 percent to 11.9 billion euros.
Networks remain the main earnings engine
The networks business supplied the strongest operating contribution, with EBITDA up 15 percent. Iberdrola attributed the increase to a larger asset base across its markets and a growing contribution from transmission assets. The regulated asset base reached 56 billion euros, up 14 percent year on year.
Total investment rose 13 percent to 10.1 billion euros in the period. Network investment reached 6.3 billion euros, an increase of 28 percent, while power generation and customer businesses received 3.6 billion euros and supported a 3,300-megawatt increase in capacity.
Management also set a longer-term target of average annual adjusted net profit growth of 10 percent over the next five years. Iberdrola expects its global regulated asset base to exceed 90 billion euros by 2030 and plans to add 15 gigawatts of generation capacity between 2025 and 2030. Further details are scheduled for the company's Capital Markets Day in March 2027.
Shares hold near recent high
Iberdrola stock traded at 22.15 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:01 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026, 0.18 percent above the Xetra close of Thursday. The comparison uses the prior Xetra session because the current trading session had not reached the closing phase.
The improved outlook strengthens the investment case for Iberdrola's regulated networks, where rising infrastructure demand and a growing asset base support earnings visibility. The higher capital allocation also points to continued execution risk, particularly across the UK, United States and Brazil.
