- Third-quarter results showed stronger earnings, customer growth and capital generation.
- Management reaffirmed its 2026 outlook and scheduled a strategy update for June 2027.
ING Groep stock ended the week higher on Xetra as investors weighed a reported loan-portfolio sale against the Dutch lender's strong third-quarter performance. Reuters reported on November 6 that ING is seeking bids for about 500 million US dollars of data-center loans, including a 25 million US dollar loan linked to a New Mexico project associated with the Stargate venture.
The portfolio covers about a dozen loans, with bids due by November 19 and a minimum size of 10 million US dollars, according to Reuters. ING declined to comment to the news agency. The proposed transaction highlights the bank's effort to manage sector exposure as financing for artificial-intelligence infrastructure faces closer scrutiny.
Strong quarter supports capital returns
ING's third-quarter results, published on October 29, showed net result of 1.85 billion euros, up 3.5 percent from a year earlier, while return on tangible equity reached 16.3 percent. According to ING, the CET1 ratio stood at 13.3 percent, enabling a further distribution of 1.9 billion euros after completion of the previously announced buyback. ING also said it was simplifying Wholesale Banking and remained on track for its 2026 outlook.
