ING Groep reported stronger commercial activity in the third quarter and announced another capital distribution on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The Dutch bank's official 3Q2026 press release said net result increased 3.5% year-on-year to EUR 1,850 million, with return on tangible equity at 16.3%.
Commercial momentum supports the outlook
ING added 259,000 mobile primary customers during the quarter. Net core lending increased by EUR 11.0 billion and net core deposits by EUR 12.1 billion, while fee income rose 9.3% year-on-year to EUR 1,273 million.

ING is also simplifying its Wholesale Banking activities as it seeks to make the business easier for clients to use.
New payout sets the capital signal
ING announced a further distribution of up to EUR 1.9 billion after completing the share buyback programme announced in April. The package includes a buyback of up to EUR 1.65 billion and a EUR 250 million cash payment scheduled for January 14, 2027. The bank said the ECB approved the distribution.
