Intuit is broadening its AI platform for accountants and businesses as it seeks to automate more financial workflows and deepen customer engagement. In a post published on November 4, Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi described the company's strategy and outlined new capabilities presented at Intuit Connect, based on opening remarks from October 26.
Goodarzi said Intuit is building one unified platform for accounting firms and their clients. The system combines customer data, financial applications, domain expertise, and AI-enabled workflows, while leaving users in control of decisions and approvals. Intuit says the goal is to support both top-line growth and greater operating efficiency.
Automation moves into daily workflows
A central feature is Agentic Books Close, which is designed to follow a firm's own procedures for managing transactions and closing books. The agent tracks progress, flags items that require attention, and can prepare a financial summary for a client. Intuit said the feature is being tested in beta, with some capabilities available now and others expected to reach customers within three to six months.
Accountant Suite is also being expanded with Agent Studio, allowing firms to create, deploy, and monitor workflows for specific client needs. Intuit said it is building the tool with about 20 firms and that some participants already have agents running. Another planned capability, Advisory Insights, is intended to identify unusual expenses, falling profits, and potential investment opportunities across a firm's client base.
The platform is designed to work across different ledgers and AI services. Intuit said firms using Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT will be able to connect those systems with Accountant Suite, enabling analysis of client records and recommended actions subject to approval.
Enterprise tools widen the addressable market
For larger customers, Intuit Enterprise Suite is adding industry-specific functions. The company defines its mid-market customers as businesses with revenue from 10 million US dollars to several hundred million US dollars. Examples include consolidated views and grant-management tools for nonprofits, as well as inventory signals and industry-specific agents for manufacturers.
Intuit cited more than 260,000 firms using Accountant Suite. According to the company, those firms save more than nine hours per month per client, while many report allocating 30% more time to advisory work rather than manual tasks. Intuit also said more than 25,000 businesses with revenue above 20 million US dollars use its mid-market platform, and that half of the service businesses using Enterprise Suite report improved profitability.
The Intuit company post presents the rollout as a long-term platform strategy rather than a single product launch. For investors, the key test is whether the new automation increases usage, retention, and revenue across accountants, small businesses, and mid-market customers without weakening trust or human oversight.
