- Damiano Cretarola became Iveco Group's CFO on November 2 after a long career within the group's businesses.
- Third-quarter revenue increased, but quality initiatives and product mix pressure sharply reduced adjusted EBIT.
- Management expects profitability and industrial free cash flow to recover in the fourth quarter.
Iveco stock is entering a new management phase after Damiano Cretarola took over as Chief Financial Officer on November 2, following Tata Motors' takeover of the commercial-vehicle group. Automotive World reported that Cretarola succeeds Anna Tanganelli and reports to Chief Executive Olof Persson.
Cretarola has worked in Iveco's businesses since 2004 and was most recently Senior Vice President of Planning and Controlling. His appointment places an experienced internal executive at the centre of the financial transition as Tata Motors integrates Iveco and the group adjusts to its post-takeover structure.
Third Quarter Shows Margin Pressure
Iveco reported consolidated third-quarter revenue of 3.16 billion euros on November 3, up 1.4 percent from the prior-year period. Adjusted EBIT fell to 30 million euros from 111 million euros, while adjusted net income turned to a loss of 32 million euros from income of 40 million euros.
The company's third-quarter release attributed the pressure to continued quality initiatives, an unfavourable product mix and inflation. Industrial Activities adjusted EBIT was nil, compared with 76 million euros a year earlier.
There were also signs of underlying demand. European medium- and heavy-duty order intake rose 23 percent year over year, while available liquidity stood at 3.7 billion euros at September 30, including 1.9 billion euros in undrawn committed facilities. Iveco expects profitability to recover in the fourth quarter, although weaker light commercial vehicle demand and macroeconomic uncertainty remain risks.
