- Jungheinrich began producing its new EFG electric counterbalance forklifts in Moosburg on October 26.
- The models target compact warehouse operations with load capacities of up to 2.0 tons.
- The launch adds a new 48-volt product generation to Jungheinrich's material-handling portfolio.
Jungheinrich has started production of its new EFG 2/2i and EFG 3/3i electric counterbalance forklifts at its Moosburg plant. According to Logistra, the first EFG 320i left the production line on October 26, 2026.
New forklifts target compact warehouses
The new generation covers three-wheel models with load capacities from 1.4 to 2.0 tons and four-wheel models ranging from 1.6 to 2.0 tons. Jungheinrich developed the series for the 48-volt segment and offers several performance and energy configurations.
The design focuses on tighter operating environments. Integrated lithium-ion batteries and revised vehicle geometry are intended to raise space efficiency by up to 15 percent, while the turning circle can shrink by up to 300 millimeters depending on the model. The changes are aimed at narrow warehouse aisles, loading platforms and confined production areas.
Product launch adds execution focus
The production start moves the EFG program from development into regular manufacturing. For investors, the key issue is whether customer acceptance and production volumes can translate the new product range into stronger orders and margins. The launch alone does not establish a change in earnings expectations.
Jungheinrich also highlights modular power options, driver ergonomics and assistance systems. The company says the development incorporated experience from more than 170,000 vehicles already sold.
