Knorr-Bremse stock gains as strong Q3 offsets Rail order concerns
Published on 11/02/2026 at 17:44 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSStrong quarter, mixed order signals
- Knorr-Bremse raised operating profitability in the third quarter while Rail order intake stayed below consensus.
- Management expects 2026 revenue and free cash flow at the upper end of its guidance ranges.
- Truck demand and the planned Rail order recovery remain key factors for the next quarter.
Knorr-Bremse stock traded at 92.25 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 5:37 p.m. CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 1.44 percent above the Xetra close of Monday, November 2. The move since the morning report is separate: the share was quoted at 89.88 euros at 8:10 a.m. CET, putting the later quote 2.64 percent higher.
In its October 28 announcement published by EQS News, Knorr-Bremse said third-quarter operating EBIT reached 299 million euros and the operating margin rose to 14.6 percent. Revenue increased to 2.05 billion euros, while free cash flow reached 238 million euros.
Rail orders temper strong earnings
The Rail division generated order intake of about 1.05 billion euros, below the 1.18 billion euro consensus cited in the announcement. Knorr-Bremse attributed part of the shortfall to postponed customer orders worth about 80 million euros and expects a partial recovery to approximately 1.2 billion euros in the fourth quarter.
Truck activity provided a stronger counterweight. Truck order intake reached about 1.02 billion euros, above the 0.99 billion euro consensus, as the division benefited from recovering demand.
Upper-end outlook remains intact
Management kept its 2026 guidance unchanged, forecasting revenue of 8.1 billion to 8.3 billion euros, an operating EBIT margin of 14.0 percent to 14.5 percent and free cash flow of 750 million to 850 million euros. Revenue and free cash flow are expected at the upper ends of those ranges.
For investors, the combination points to strong profitability and cash generation, but also leaves Rail order timing as the main near-term execution issue. The transition from the BOOST efficiency program to the Growth Beyond strategy adds a further strategic milestone.
