- The non-exclusive framework covers lubricant technologies, specialty fluids and related industrial applications in India.
- LANXESS is due to publish its third-quarter 2026 results and hold an investor call on November 5.
LANXESS and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited have agreed to explore cooperation on advanced industrial lubricants and specialty fluid solutions in India. The Hindu BusinessLine reported the memorandum of understanding on October 29, 2026. At 16:42 Berlin time on the same day, Lang & Schwarz showed the LANXESS share at EUR 11.70, down 0.43% from the Xetra close of EUR 11.75 on October 28.
The agreement is non-exclusive and covers the development, evaluation, qualification and potential commercialisation of lubricant technologies. The areas under review include bearing and circulating oils, hydraulic fluids, turbine oils, refrigeration lubricants, specialty greases and industrial additive packages, according to The Hindu BusinessLine.
What has changed since our last report
The cooperation adds a new, India-focused business development angle to the information available since the previous report. The partners also plan to assess bio-based lubricants, electric-vehicle fluids, hydrogen-related applications and immersion cooling for data centres. Commercialisation remains subject to technical work, qualification and customer approvals.
LANXESS said the arrangement combines its lubricant-additive technology, formulation capabilities and OEM relationships with BPCL's manufacturing infrastructure, base-oil portfolio and domestic market reach. The agreement therefore provides a framework for development rather than booked revenue or a binding sales commitment.
Since the most recent relevant report on October 26, the Lang & Schwarz quote has moved from EUR 11.91 to EUR 11.70 as of 16:42 Berlin time, a decline of 1.76%. This comparison is separate from the Xetra day change above. The previous report had focused on Deutsche Bank's reduced EUR 13 price target and the upcoming quarterly figures.
LANXESS lists November 5, 2026, for its third-quarter results and an investor-relations conference call, as shown on the company's investor-relations page. That release will be the next scheduled test of operating performance; the BPCL memorandum is currently a cooperation framework, not a reported earnings contribution.
