Lonza Group stock is in focus after the Swiss contract development and manufacturing organization upgraded its long-term growth model. The company announced the change on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at its Capital Markets Day in Vacaville, California, while confirming its full-year outlook after a third quarter that was in line with expectations across all business platforms.
Lonza said its transformation into a focused, pure-play CDMO was complete after the exit from its Capsules and Health Ingredients business and further divestments. In its Capital Markets Day announcement, the company linked the revised model to stronger operational and financial performance, the execution of growth projects and future demand opportunities.
Higher ambitions for growth and margins
The upgraded model calls for low-teens organic sales growth at constant exchange rates on average over time. Lonza also expects CORE EBITDA to grow faster than sales and aims for a CORE EBITDA margin in the high thirties over the medium term. The previous model focused on a lower margin range, making profitability the main area of increased ambition rather than a change to the company's near-term sales outlook.
Lonza added medium-term goals for return on invested capital and free-cash-flow conversion. It targets ROIC at two to three times its current weighted average cost of capital and expects free-cash-flow conversion to improve on average over time. The company said maturing high-return projects, operational and commercial improvements, better capital-expenditure performance and overhead discipline should support those targets.
2026 outlook remains unchanged
For 2026, Lonza reiterated its expectation of 11% to 12% sales growth at constant exchange rates and a CORE EBITDA margin of 33% to 34%. The company continues to expect a negative foreign-exchange effect of 2% to 3% on full-year sales growth. Its Capsules and Health Ingredients business is still expected to deliver mid-single-digit constant-exchange-rate sales growth and further CORE EBITDA margin expansion before the planned divestment is completed.
Lonza Group stock traded at EUR 702.80 on Lang & Schwarz at 10:35 a.m. Berlin time on Friday, October 30, 2026. Investors are weighing the upgraded medium-term profitability framework against the execution requirements for major expansion projects and the company's continued investment needs.
For investors, the announcement shifts attention from the immediate 2026 sales outlook toward the pace at which Lonza can convert its project pipeline and operating improvements into margin expansion, returns and cash generation. The company also maintained its commitment to a progressive dividend policy and said organic capital expenditure should remain in the mid-to-high teens as a percentage of sales.
