LPKF Laser & Electronics reported a weak first nine months on October 29, with solar demand and delayed Advanced Packaging orders weighing on revenue and earnings. The figures were published in an EQS release carried by Deutsche Börse.

Consolidated revenue reached EUR 60.3 million in the nine months to September 30, down 28.1 percent from the prior-year period. EBIT deteriorated to EUR -12.8 million from EUR -3.3 million, while adjusted EBIT declined to EUR -8.9 million from EUR -0.8 million. The adjusted EBIT margin was -14.7 percent, compared with -1.0 percent a year earlier.

Solar Delays Shape The Outlook

LPKF said customers were postponing solar investments ahead of the expected shift toward perovskite solutions. An expected major order from China remained unconfirmed and contributed to the revised forecast. Advanced Packaging also progressed more slowly than planned as customers took longer to move from qualification projects into production applications.

Order intake was EUR 65.1 million, broadly in line with EUR 65.4 million a year earlier. The order backlog stood at EUR 31.9 million at September 30, compared with EUR 32.5 million a year earlier. A letter of intent from a leading Asian manufacturer offers a potential mid-single-digit-million-euro opportunity, but the release does not treat it as booked revenue.

Cost Program Supports Recovery Plans

LPKF kept its 2026 revenue forecast at EUR 93 million to EUR 100 million and expects an adjusted EBIT margin of -7.0 percent to -2.5 percent. The earlier outlook had called for EUR 105 million to EUR 120 million in revenue and an adjusted EBIT margin of -3.0 percent to 4.5 percent.

The first phase of the North Star efficiency program is complete, with expected annual savings of just over EUR 8 million taking effect gradually. LPKF aims for a sustainable double-digit EBIT margin by 2028, while a new organizational structure is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.

LPKF Laser & Electronics stock traded at EUR 10.04 on Lang & Schwarz at 13:16 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026, 2.05 percent below the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4.
