Mastercard reported strong third-quarter results on October 29, 2026, with revenue growth across its payment network and value-added services. The company's earnings review said the group was using its network, security capabilities and new payment products to support longer-term expansion.
Mastercard stock traded at 570.40 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:06 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 0.07 percent below the Xetra close of 570.80 euros on Friday, October 30. Payment volumes support revenue growth
Third-quarter net revenue rose 14 percent from a year earlier to 9.8 billion US dollars. Adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 21 percent to 5.31 US dollars, while adjusted net income climbed 18 percent. The reported figures were supported by higher activity in both the core network and the services business.
Worldwide gross dollar volume increased 7 percent on a local-currency basis to 3.0 trillion US dollars. Purchase volume grew 9 percent, cross-border volume advanced 11 percent and switched transactions increased 9 percent. Contactless payments accounted for 81 percent of in-person switched purchase transactions, up five percentage points from the prior year.
Payment-network revenue increased 11 percent. Mastercard attributed the advance to domestic and cross-border transaction growth, pricing and transaction processing, although rebates and incentives also increased. Value-added services and solutions revenue rose 19 percent, reflecting demand for security, digital, authentication, data and customer-engagement products.
Outlook stays at high end
Management maintained its expectation for 2026 currency-neutral net revenue growth at the high end of the low-double-digit range, excluding inorganic activity. The company expects acquisitions and dispositions to have a minimal effect and sees an approximately one-percentage-point foreign-exchange tailwind for the year.
For the fourth quarter, Mastercard expects revenue growth at the high end of the low-double-digit range and operating-expense growth in the same range, excluding inorganic activity. That outlook leaves execution on spending volumes, cross-border activity and services demand as the main factors for the next results.
Management also highlighted the acquisition of BVNK and the launch of the Global Money Platform for fiat currencies and stablecoins. Mastercard is developing Agent Pay and related tokenization and identity capabilities for agentic commerce, though the company described that market as being in its early stages.
