- The evergreen vehicle is available to institutional and private-wealth investors worldwide.
- Its portfolio spans direct lending, credit secondaries, fund financing, royalties, opportunistic credit and liquid credit.
- Partners Group's private-credit business manages USD 40 billion globally, according to the company announcement.
Partners Group launched a global multi-sector private-credit income strategy on October 9, giving institutional and private-wealth investors access to an open-ended evergreen vehicle. The company announcement, carried by the Financial Times, said the strategy was launched in response to growing investor demand, particularly in Asia.
The vehicle targets high-single-digit to low-double-digit returns, with income expected to provide most of the return profile. That is a target rather than a guaranteed result. The offering broadens Partners Group's access to private credit beyond traditional closed-end structures and bespoke mandates.
A diversified credit portfolio
The strategy invests across senior direct lending, credit secondaries, fund financing, royalties, opportunistic credit and liquid credit. Its geographic focus covers developed markets in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
Partners Group said the multi-sector structure is designed to balance different sources of opportunity. If slower mergers and acquisitions activity reduces direct-lending opportunities, the portfolio can shift toward credit secondaries or net asset value financing, where demand for liquidity may increase.
Andrew Bellis, Global Head of Private Credit at Partners Group, said the growth and increasing maturity of private-credit markets have created an opportunity to combine complementary income-generating strategies. The company said the strategy is intended to benefit from differences in sectors, market structures and lending conditions across regions.
Credit becomes a larger growth pillar
The company said its private-credit business had USD 40 billion in assets under management globally when the strategy was announced. Partners Group's wider platform had more than USD 186 billion in assets under management, according to the same announcement.
For investors, the next test is execution rather than the launch itself. Fundraising, deployment pace, portfolio concentration and the income actually generated will determine whether the broad mandate translates into durable growth for the business. The strategy also adds another product to a platform that already includes private equity, infrastructure, real estate, royalties and other private-market categories.
