Operating profit advances in nine months
Ping An reported operating profit attributable to shareholders of RMB125.905 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, up 8.3 percent from a year earlier. Vietnam Investment Review published the figures in a report dated October 29 that carried the company's results announcement.
Basic operating earnings per share increased 9.2 percent to RMB7.23. Life and health insurance operating profit rose 5.7 percent to RMB87.238 billion, while property and casualty premium income gained 3.5 percent to RMB265.215 billion. The combined ratio improved by 1.4 percentage points to 95.6 percent, a development that points to better underwriting performance in the period.
AI scales across customer operations
Artificial intelligence remained a central operating theme. AI-enabled inquiry, consultation and processing covered 90 percent of Ping An's business scenarios at the end of September. AI service representatives handled about 82 percent of total customer-service volume in the first nine months.
The release also said Ping An's retail customer base rose 1.9 percent year to date to nearly 256 million. That combination of customer expansion and broader automation gives investors a way to assess whether technology investments are translating into operating efficiency and deeper use of the group's integrated finance model.
Biodiversity plan adds a new focus
Ping An announced a new biodiversity conservation plan at a Shenzhen seminar held on October 23. The plan includes a conservation initiative for the Przewalski's gazelle and an egret rescue program, with agricultural drones supporting wildlife monitoring and habitat patrols in a protected area.
AAP News reported that Ping An already provides risk protection for 80,000 ancient trees across China, with total coverage of RMB1.26 billion. The initiatives broaden the group's use of insurance, technology and public-benefit programs beyond conventional financial products.
