Regeneron (ISIN US75886F1075) extended its agreement with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority on October 26, 2026, adding a USD 270 million Inmazeb supply commitment. The Regeneron release says additional doses are expected to reach the U.S. government through 2031.
Supply agreement adds a long-term buyer
The agreement expands a 2020 procurement arrangement with BARDA for Inmazeb, a three-antibody treatment for infection caused by Orthoebolavirus zairense. Regeneron expects to receive payment for the additional supply while maintaining a government relationship that began with the original procurement agreement.
Inmazeb is approved for adults and children, including neonates born to infected mothers. The company said the treatment has been administered to hundreds of patients since 2019, giving the contract a commercial base that extends beyond a one-time order.
Maftivimab broadens the Ebola program
The same October 26 release also separates the supply agreement from a development update. Regeneron is adding investigational maftivimab to the PARTNERS trial as a potential treatment for Bundibugyo virus disease in the current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Maftivimab is the most potent virus-neutralizing component of Inmazeb, according to the company. Regeneron cited in vitro and non-human-primate findings, while noting that the supporting data are available as a preprint and remain subject to peer review.
Evidence behind the treatment
The company said Inmazeb reduced mortality by 55 percent versus an active control in a clinical trial involving patients with low viral load. Its safety and efficacy were established through the 681-patient PALM Trial during the 2018 Democratic Republic of the Congo outbreak.
The BARDA agreement therefore combines a dated supply commitment with a separate pipeline step. The contract supports deliveries through 2031, while the maftivimab trial could test whether one component of the existing antibody cocktail has a role against another Ebola virus.
Stock snapshot and next step
Regeneron is listed on Nasdaq under ticker REGN. The next major company date is the scheduled third-quarter results announcement on October 30, 2026, which will provide the next broader update on commercial performance and pipeline progress.
