Repsol (ISIN ES0173516115) announced a third share buyback of up to EUR 950 million while reporting adjusted net income of EUR 5.419 billion for the first nine months of 2026. The company disclosed both developments in its October 29, 2026 Repsol release.
Buyback adds to shareholder returns
The new program is expected to be completed by year-end and follows two buybacks totaling EUR 850 million that Repsol says were executed in 2026. The company also said its total shareholder distributions are expected to approach EUR 3.0 billion this year.
Repsol's release puts the new buyback alongside a planned additional payment of EUR 0.56 per share in January 2027. The company said its 2026 cash dividend totals EUR 1.051 per share, up 8 percent from 2025.
What do the results show?
Net income reached EUR 5.006 billion through September, including a positive inventory effect of EUR 943 million. Adjusted Industrial earnings rose to EUR 3.668 billion from EUR 540 million in the same period of 2025, while operating cash flow reached EUR 6.503 billion.
Upstream production averaged 557,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day through September. Repsol expects full-year 2026 production of 560,000 to 570,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Projects support the longer view
Repsol plans to develop projects worth EUR 11.5 billion in Spain between 2026 and 2030, with 60 percent allocated near its industrial complexes. That investment plan gives the results a strategic angle beyond the quarterly earnings figures.
