RTX Corporation (ISIN US75513E1010) reported USD 25.0 billion in third-quarter sales and raised its 2026 outlook, according to the company's October 20, 2026 results release. The aerospace and defense company lifted adjusted sales guidance to USD 97.0 billion-USD 97.5 billion from USD 95.0 billion-USD 96.0 billion.
Sales and earnings accelerate
Third-quarter sales rose 11 percent from USD 22.5 billion in the year-earlier period, while organic growth reached 12 percent. Adjusted earnings per share increased 33 percent to USD 2.26 from USD 1.70, including USD 0.25 per share from IEEPA cost recovery, the company said in the release.
Reported net income attributable to common shareowners climbed to USD 2.6 billion from USD 1.9 billion. Free cash flow was USD 2.1 billion, down 47 percent from USD 4.0 billion in the third quarter of 2025, while operating cash flow fell to USD 2.9 billion from USD 4.6 billion.
What the higher guidance means
The revised outlook also raises the full-year adjusted earnings-per-share range to USD 7.65-USD 7.75 from USD 7.10-USD 7.25. RTX now expects organic sales growth of 10 percent-11 percent, compared with its previous 8 percent-9 percent range.
The change reflects stronger defense activity, commercial equipment demand at Collins Aerospace and higher GTF aftermarket volume at Pratt & Whitney. The company ended the quarter with a USD 340.0 billion backlog, including USD 176.0 billion of commercial work and USD 164.0 billion of defense work. RTX also said it received more than USD 81.0 billion in commercial and defense awards during the quarter.
Segment results show mixed pressure
Raytheon sales increased 14 percent to USD 8.0 billion, while Collins Aerospace sales rose 10 percent to USD 8.4 billion. Pratt & Whitney sales also grew 10 percent to USD 9.2 billion, but reported operating profit fell 19 percent to USD 608 million because of a USD 363 million customer-bankruptcy charge.
