Safran.AI plans to establish its first international subsidiary in Singapore after Safran and the Singapore Economic Development Board signed a memorandum of understanding on October 29, 2026. The Singapore EDB said the new unit will house an AI centre of excellence focused initially on automating digital inspections for aviation maintenance.
The Singapore Economic Development Board said recruitment will start in the first quarter of 2027. Safran.AI expects the subsidiary to grow to around 50 employees over five years, including data scientists and AI engineers.
AI focus targets aviation maintenance
The centre will develop industrial AI solutions for digital inspection and support Singapore's MRO 4.0 ambitions. It is also intended to draw on the country's research and engineering base while serving Safran.AI customers across the ASEAN region.
Safran has operated in Singapore for more than 45 years and employs around 900 people across five production, engineering and maintenance sites, according to the EDB release. The initiative therefore extends an existing regional footprint rather than marking Safran's first local industrial presence.
